2 Bedroom Cabin in Lake City

2 Bedroom, 1 bath cabin on 2 acres of land in the Osceola National Forest. Sleeps 4 with a king and 2 twin beds (can be setup w 4 twins instead). Unlimited wireless internet via satellite 42 inch flatscreen in living room. . Smart TV is set with Netflix, Prime and Hulu setup to stream movies.
Country cottage kitchen. Front and back porch. Deer and wild turkey visit each day.
It's very peaceful and quiet out here. I love it, particularly in the fall and winter. Summer brings lots of mosquitoes and is not the perfect time unless you plan on staying inside a lot, that's why I charge a little less then.
There's also bird seed here if you'd like to put it out for the birds, as well as corn for the deer and turkey. We frequently have the Piliated woodpecker in the yard as well as the occasional hawk and egret. Once in a while there will be rabbits, possum and raccoon.
And, if you are an early riser, the deer are in the yard pretty much everyday about 5am. And, the wild turkey. They visit daily.
If you want to ride your bike there’s lots of trails in the Osceola National Forest nearby that are ATV, UTV friendly.
Pets are welcome for a $10 per night extra fee, with a discount if staying 7 nights or longer. We provide a welcome kit for our furry guests that includes treats, toy and poop bags.

Fishing the old time way... There's several small lakes a five minute's drive away. You'll just have to bring your gear, dig worms or buy bait and head for the woods. We have a hoe waiting for you... :-)
Many people come for the ATVing, as the Osceola Forest has many marked ATV trails that are free to ride.
Located in the Osceola National Forest, East of Lake City, close to the Olustee Battlefield, 30 miles from Itcheetucknee River, the Santafee, and the Suwannee Rivers. Great for hiking, fishing and tubing the river. If you're wanting to go see the Jags play, it's about 50 miles away, the Gators are about 40, and we even have our own little speedway if you're into racing. Perhaps one of the most popular things to do here is ATVing. The miles and miles of free atv trails that wander through the forest all around all the cabins. There's also many geocaches hidden nearby.
For those working during their stay, the cottage is 11 miles from the Lake City VA Hospital, 12 from the Lake City Medical Center, 8 miles from Haeco Air Craft plant, and 12 miles from Walmart.
You have the whole house. My husband and I are gone most of the time as we travel out west in the summer to camp-host and spend a lot of the winter visiting.
It's wonderful out here as all the neighbors are retired, or work for the state. Secluded forest area.

Summary: We en up yes our time at Bear Cabin. Clean, had everything we need including heaters owners bought specifically for our stay because of cold front that came through. Very appreciative of that! A quiet neighborhood, great fenced yard for our dogs who thoroughly enjoyed their stay too! Only negative is it’s a little awkward that the owners have their RV parked on the property about 40 yards from the rental so not private at all. They were super kind though and very helpful with anything we needed and we had a great time!

Summary: Love lad how the house is nestled so close to the Osceola National forest. It was perfect for what we needed it for. Such a quiet neighborhood. We slept like babies while here. I really enjoyed being able to walk my dogs everyday without worrying about traffic or other dogs bothering us. We had everything we needed in the house. Will definitely be back to explore more of the forest! Just beautiful there.

Summary: What a beautiful spot in the forest. My husband and I came for the ATV riding, and it did not disappoint. The cabin was fun for the whole family, it had everything we needed. The kids especially loved the tire swing! The owners, neighbors and caretaker were super sweet and accommodating - you couldn't ask for nicer people.

Summary: Perfect place to stay for my needs. You feel like your camping. Very quiet neighborhood. Not too far from town but far enough to be secluded. The simple county feel home is well stocked with just about everything. You'll see deer and turkey on travels back & forth to town. Sharon is great to work with and very responsive.

Summary: We needed a quiet location to spend New Years Eve because our dog has noise anxiety and our neighborhood typically has many fireworks going off. We specifically chose this property because of its remote location. Although Sharon couldn't guarantee a quiet stay, she did consult with the caretaker regarding previous noise on holidays. Since they reported it had been quiet, we went ahead and booked. And sure enough, it was extremely quiet. In addition, as someone who is always concerned with my dog's safety, (and having stayed at other dog friendly vrbo properties), there is a fenced area for dogs which is extremely convenient. Thank you Sharon for adding that feature!
